Seminar Serves as NAFTA Refresher for GE

The Challenge
GE Energy, a global company that provides power generation technology, services and equipment to customers around the world, needed a refresher in NAFTA certification processes. The company wanted to make sure they were up to par with the whole NAFTA procedure.

The Solution
Free Trade Agreement Specialist Erika Vidal-Faulkenberry attended a NAFTA seminar presented by ECI and the S.C. District Export Council. The seminar provided GE with valuable guidelines for navigating NAFTA, from certification to qualification. 

The Result
GE was able to see first-hand how other businesses were navigating the process for NAFTA certification. The company also received how-to information on the order of events from certification to qualification. As a result of the seminar, Vidal-Faulkenberry, said she is more careful when auditing certificates from suppliers. She said that the seminar has prompted her to ask more questions.
